Easter & Spring Break!

We had a wonderful Easter and Spring Break last week!  I had to work on Easter Day, but we got invited to an Easter egg hunt in the McGuire's neighborhood the day before Easter.  Cora and Josh, especially Cora, loved to run around and hunt for eggs!  Last year Josh was not walking, so this year was his first official hunt.  He was not too sure what to do with those eggs, but next year he should be a pro!  My wild Cora just ran around freely and grabbed every egg she could get her hands on.  Poor Ellie was sick, so we missed her and Uncle Bill!
During Spring Break we went to a petting zoo at Short Pump mall and the kids loved to pet all of the cute little animals.  It was a chilly day but we were troopers because we were determined to have a great Spring Break!  Nana also took the girls to see Lyle Lyle Crocodile and they all had a blast!  Nana is just too good to all of her grandchildren, they are so lucky to have her.  Lastly, we went to Busch Gardens on yet another chilly day!  It was crowded and chilly, but we still were determined to have fun!  We had a few meltdowns along the way but all in all we enjoyed our trip and can't wait for many more this year!

Happy St. Patty's Day & Happy 3rd Birthday Ellie!

Little Miss Ellie turned 3 this past weekend on St. Patrick's Day!  The party was planned for Saturday, but poor Ellie was sick with strep and croup:(  The party got moved to the next day (her actual birthday and St. Patty's Day), but unfortunately I had to work!  So Sam took Cora and Josh and I hear that everyone had a blast!  Aunt KK send me some pictures from the party...so here they are!  Happy Birthday sweet Ellie, we love you!

Hello March!

We are anxiously awaiting warm weather and Spring to come!  March has had a few warm days so far, but more cold than warm.  We have been staying busy and fighting off colds off and on.  Last week we had a surprise snow storm, which we got about 5 or so inches of wet snow!  Cora and Josh had a cold so we stayed inside and watched it fall:) 
Last Saturday Nana and Pop's church held a 5K and 1 mile Kid's Run.  Madelyn, Cora, and Ellie all ran the Kid's Run and it was a success!  Cora was at the end of her cold, so she was definitely not 100%.  She ran with her Daddy and enjoyed it when he carried her during the middle of the race!  Madelyn was the star of the race by never stopping!  We were so proud of her!  Ellie was her cute self and cut midway during the race so she could finish with her sister and cousin!  Afterwards we enjoyed some food and the kids played in the bouncy house.  It was a fun morning and we can't wait to make this an annual event for the kids!  Thanks Nana and Pop for making this happen, we love you!

Happy Valentine's Day! - 2013

Last week we celebrated Valentine's Day!  It was a very low key day including a few gifts, gymnastics, the park, and a spaghetti dinner!  Cora has been very excited about Valentine's Day, especially to make Valentines for her brother, friends and cousins.  For weeks she has been whispering in my ear "Happy Valentine's Day Mom."  And the more she said it, the more she melted my heart!  Here are some pictures from our special day:)

Great Wolf Lodge!

Great news in the Nolan household...we are all well!  After two weeks of sickness traveling through the house, we are finally all well!  It was a long, long two weeks...is it Spring yet?!  Last week I was on vacation so Kelly and I decided to go to Great Wolf Lodge for an overnight stay.  It was nice to get away for a night.  Nana kept Josh which helped out a ton!  The girls were so excited to get there and ready to get started.  Kelly and I discovered that we could take the kids on the bigger rides a couple hours after getting there....and then it became fun!!  We were surprised that the girls even liked the bigger rides...especially Ellie!  It was a fun and interesting trip to say the least!  I didn't get too many pictures, simply because it was very wet there:) But overall we had a great time!!!  Now we are ready for Water Country USA this summer!!!
